Vlora – the connection of two seas, history and nature
Vlora is located on the southwestern coast of Albania, at the point where the Adriatic and Ionian Seas meet. The city has a rich history – it was here that Albanian independence was declared in 1912 – and still retains a unique character.
The old town is impressive with its narrow stone streets, houses with Italian influences, cafes and restaurants. The port is the lively center of the city and at the same time the starting point for cruises to the surrounding islands and hidden bays.
Vlora’s great advantage is its surroundings. Here you will find both sandy and pebble beaches, turquoise bays and the nearby Karaburun peninsula with a national park, which offers opportunities for hiking, swimming in clear water and exploring caves. Zvërnec with a Byzantine monastery on a small island is also a popular excursion destination.
Vlora is ideal for those who want to combine living by the sea, nature and city life.
